Valletta Gateway Terminals,a joint venture between Portek Group of Singapore and Tumas Group of Malta, was established on the 9th June 2006 after it was awarded the 30-year concession agreement to operate and manage the Grand Harbour Terminals. Being multi-purpose, the terminals can handle Roll On / Roll Off (RORO) operations, trailers, containers, conventional cargo and also vehicles.

Valletta Gateway Terminals Ltd (VGT), a subsidiary of Portek Group in Singapore, holds a 30-year concession, jointly with Tumas Group of Malta, to manage and operate the multi-purpose facilities at Malta’s Grand Harbour.
This harbour has a depth which allows for the berthing of many types of vessels. Its central location enables VGT and logistic providers to offer an effective distribution network that meets the demand of local industries and consumer.
VGT handles around 40,000 containers and RORO trailers, 16,000 vehicles and 191,000 tons of bulk and conventional cargo a year. Spreading over an area of over 9 hectares with a total quay length of 1200 metres, it has invested in both infrastructure and equipment in order to better handle current traffic and add value. VGT also provides long and short term leasing facilities.
